pinocchio-lying

Well, the election is less than 3 weeks away, so the lies about Connecticut’s economy from the Malloy administration are back and better than ever.  Just weeks after telling his department heads that we are facing yet another budget deficit, Gov. Dan Malloy told State Comptroller Kevin Lembo that everything is awesome!  One of these things is untrue.

If we look at Gov. Malloy’s history of blatantly lying to the citizens of Connecticut just prior to important elections, it’s very hard not to imagine that he is once again lying to help keep his party in power in Hartford so they can implement new taxes, fees, revenue enhancements, whatever you want to call them.

It’s going to get a whole lot more expensive to live in Connecticut if this lie works. Again. And sadly, it will. And the economy here will continue to bounce along the bottom, politically-connected friends will continue to receive millions in government “loans” and businesses small and large who are not connected will continue to either close or move out.  It’s the inevitable result of Malloy’s policies and he has shown no evidence of changing.

Meanwhile, the lies keep coming louder and larger from his party, up and down the ballot.  And I am seriously sick of being treated like an idiot.  Anyone who believes these lies is either a fool or cares more about power than about honesty.

And speaking of lying liars who lie, our guest today is Rachel Anderson, a Senior Editor at The Stream.  We discuss this column, 18 Reasons (So Far) Leaked Podesta Emails Reveal Dishonest Side of Clinton, Her Campaign and Media Collusion, which no one in the mainstream media seems to want to discuss.

Another fun show.  Great topics and a great guest, plus MJ’s drink.

You definitely want to listen to this one.

Our guest this week is Steve Nathanson, founder of  SameThatTune.com.  Same that Tune is a website that chronicles similarities between songs.  Really interesting conversation and I was amazed at just how many times this has happened!

Special Edition Saturday – March 1, 2014

Tom Hill once again sits in as Steve’s producer for today’s show.

In the first hour, Steve and Tom speak to Ben Mills of Transform Technology about the Scam of the Week, the discontinuation of Windows XP support and the recent problems experienced by Mt. Gox, the largest bitcoin exchange.

In the second hour, Steve speaks with Jim Levy, an oil and gas geologist and oil producer currently out in North Dakota, about fracking, oil production in the US and the Keystone XL pipeline.

Later, Dave Iaanone from Ann’s Deli joins Tom and Steve with his hilarious Joke of the Week.  And then, as always, Steve’s personal mixologist MJ calls in with his drink of the week, called Gravity’s Rainbow, in honor of the only 2014 Oscar-nominated movie he has seen so far.  (recipe below.)
